Tami Farrell
December 9, 2011
Tami Farrell is a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart.
She may not have a name that you recognize right away, but she is a lady you should be watching as she is going to change the world!
She was Miss Teen USA 2003 and was also Miss California USA 2009. She went to school to become an actress and has made guest appearances on some popular shows, and she's also a model. And in addition to all of that she is also an extremely talented singer, if you go to her webpage, you can hear her sing, and it's just beautiful!
Tami has been though many ups and downs (as you will see in her answers) and for her to open up and share her story with us here at Team True Beauty is a true honor. She has seen many difficulties in her life, and has had the strength to perservere and press on.
I asked her to be a celebrity spotlight because I wanted to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to get to know her a little bit better, and she sent her answers back right away. I enjoyed reading her answers so much that I had to read them to TTB President, Brittany, right away.
In her opening statement of the e-mail, Tami said, "Thank you again for interviewing me. I am honored to share my thoughts with your fans. I think it is such a wonderful message you are sharing." and we were extremely touched, because we are honored that she is apart of Team True Beauty!
Please read her answers and take them to heart! If you remember nothing else of her story, just remember that difficulties and trials are a part of life, but there is always a way to make it through them!
TTB: Why did you decide to join Team True Beauty?
TAMI: I think it is a wonderful organization. So many young women today fail to see their self worth. There is nothing more beautiful then a woman who is confortable in her own skin, and who appreciates the masterpiece in her originality. I love how you encourage and inspire girls to see how special they are.
TTB: What is one piece of advice you would give to people who are struggling to see THEIR true beauty?
TAMI: My heart breaks when I meet people who struggle to see their worth. Everyone was designed with a uniqueness and purpose that no one else can fulfill. There will never be another you. You are perfect in every detail of your design. God doesn' t make mistakes, he creates masterpieces.
TTB: How do YOU describe Beauty? True Beauty? Is there a difference?
TAMI: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It can be the simplicity of a sunset, or disillusioned like a print ad. True Beauty is complacency with ourself and our surroundings. It is an appreciation and understanding of who we are and of our worth. To find True Beauty, you must first find yourself.
TTB: What is one thing that your fans/followers/TTB supporters would be surprised to find out about you?
TAMI: I was a total tomboy growing up. I played multiple sports and was the only girl on an all boys baseball team. I battled with a heart condition and in high school was forced to give up sports. My identity had been as an athlete and when that was taken away from me, I struggled to find who I was. There was more to me then sports, and when that chapter of my life closed, God opened a new page which led me to pageantry. My senior year of high school I won Miss Oregon Teen USA and went on to win Miss Congeniality and Miss Teen USA 2003. Growing up I had dreams of modeling and acting. When I won Miss Teen USA I got a scholarship to the New York School for Film and Television I began working as a model. Because of my struggles with my health, I had a passion to help others in need and became a voice of many charities and causes I believed in. Had I never gotten sick, I would never have accomplished the things I have to date.
TTB: If there is ONE thing that you can leave this spotlight with, concerning ANYTHING (funny or serious) what would it be?
TAMI: When I was nineteen years old I helped raise over 21 million dollars for charity. I love the quote, "Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon" Don't ever let anyone, including yourself, put limitations on what you can do.
Thank you Tami, for taking time to share your story with us and the Beauties of Team True Beauty! We are beyond honored to have you aboard the team! Very excited to meet you at the 1-Year-Anniversary Event in January!
